Clement Isnard
Clément Isnard (* in the 16th century ; † May 11, 1612 in Nice ) was Bishop of Glandèves from 1593 to 1612 .
Life
Clément Isnard (or Isnardi in Italian ) came from one of the oldest families in the city of Nice . Consecrated Bishop of Glandèves on December 19, 1593, he took possession of his cathedral in January of the following year. In 1599 he assisted in the ordination of Bishop Barthélémy Camelin of Fréjus . On February 7, 1609, in the presence of Archbishop Honoré de Laurens ' von Embrun , he reorganized his diocese, which had been ruined by the wars of religion. He united the priories and other benefices with the archbishop's canteen, on the one hand to compensate his canons for the losses suffered by the wars of religion and on the other hand to involve them in the construction of the cathedral in Entrevaux . Bishop Isnard died in Nice on May 11, 1612.
