Claes-Ingvar Lagerkvist

Claes-Ingvar Oskar Lagerkvist (born November 17, 1944 ) is a Swedish astronomer and professor of astronomy at Uppsala University .

He discovered three periodic comets P / 1996 R2 (Lagerkvist), C / 1996 R3 and P / 1997 T3 (Lagerkvist-Carsenty). He discovered more than 130 asteroids , including the Jupiter Trojan (37732) 1996 TY 68 . The asteroid (2875) Lagerkvist , discovered by E. Bowell on February 11, 1983 , was named in his honor.

Lagerkvist was director of the Kvistaberg observatory from 1999 to 2007 .
