Claire Mahon

Claire Mahon (* 20th century) is an Australian - New Zealand lawyer and human rights activist .

Mahon is a Research Fellow at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights , where she is the Joint Coordinator of the Project on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights. She is the Adjunct Clinical Professor of Law at the University of Michigan Law School and visiting professor at the Institute for International Studies and Development and other universities and institutions.

From 2007 to 2008 Mahon was Legal Advisor to UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food Jean Ziegler . From 2009 to 2010 she was Special Advisor to the Chair of the GAVI Alliance Mary Robinson .

In 2020 she ran for the Labor Party in Rotorua for election to the New Zealand House of Commons.
