Clara is located in the Tacuarembó department in sector 3 of the Cuchilla de Clara . In a north-west-south-east direction, the Arroyo de Clara flows south past the place. The closest settlements are La Hilera in the north-northeast and Curtina in the west-northwest. The Cuchilla de los Once Cerros extends in the south of Clara .
