Clara Rodríguez

Clara Rodríguez (* 1970 ) is a Venezuelan pianist.

Rodríguez studied at the Conservatorio Nacional de Musica Juan Jose Landaeta and then with a scholarship from the Venezuelan Ministry of Culture at the Royal College of Music in London . Her teachers included Phyllis Sellick , Guiomar Narváez , Niel Immelman and Paul Badura-Skoda . She works as a professor for piano at the Royal College of Music. In 2002 she founded the Alma Viva ensemble with Latin American musicians living in London .

In addition to the classical repertoire, Rodríguez's repertoire primarily includes contemporary Latin American and Spanish piano literature. The Venezuelan composer Federico Ruiz dedicated numerous compositions to her, and she gave world premieres of works by Lawrence Casserley and Michael Rosas Cobian .
