Moisés Moleiro (composer)

Moisés Moleiro (* 1904 in Zaraza , Guárico ; † 1979 ) was a Venezuelan composer and pianist .

Moleiro was largely self-taught, only between 1924 and 1927 he studied piano with Salvador Llamozas . He was one of the founding members of the Orfeón Lamas and the Orquesta Sinfónica Venezuela and founded the Escuela Nacionalista Musical en Venezuela with Juan Bautista Plaza , Vicente Emilio Sojo and José Antonio Calcaño . For over forty years he was professor for piano and music theory at the Escuela de Música y Declamación .

Moleiro's brother was the writer Rodolfo Moleiro . His children are the politician and historian Moisés Moleiro , the writer Federico Moleiro and the pianist Carmencita Moleiro .
