Carmencita Moleiro

Carmencita Moleiro (* around 1940 in Caracas ) is a Venezuelan pianist .

Life

Carmencita Moleiro took lessons from her father, the composer Moisés Moleiro, and then studied at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, which she graduated with honors. Afterwards she perfected her education and training. a. at the Nice Conservatory and Wesleyan University in Connecticut.

In Venezuela she is the organizer and president of the jury of the biennial Concurso Nacional de Piano y Composición "Moisés Moleiro" and solo pianist of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Venezuela . With the double bass player Luis Gómez Imbert , she forms the Moisés Moleiro duo .

Moleiro teaches at the Escuela Superior de Música José Ángel Lamas and directs the Pedro Nolasco Colón music school . In 1997 she received the Order of Vicente Emilio Sojo for her services to the promotion of music and culture .

She has released several CDs as a piano soloist and chamber musician, including the CD Ofrenda, Música Venezolana , on which, in addition to works by her father, she has pieces by Heraclio Fernández , Ramón Delgado Palacios , Antonio Lauro , Luisa Elena Paesano , Inocente Carreño , Rafael Saumell , Manuel Guadalajara and Evencio Castellanos plays.

Carmencita Moleiro is the younger sister of the politician and philosopher Moisés Moleiro and the poet Federico Moleiro . Her son is the baritone Gaspar Colón Moleiro .
