Gaspar Colón Moleiro

Gaspar Enrique Colón Moleiro is a Venezuelan opera and concert singer ( baritone ).

Life

Moleiro took lessons from his grandfather, the composer Moisés Moleiro and his mother, the pianist Carmencita Moleiro . He then studied at the Pedro Nolasco Colon Conservatory in Caracas, where he also trained as a clarinetist. He then studied lyrical singing with Elio Malfatti.

At the VII Concurso Nacional de Canto Lírico “Alfredo Hollander” 2005 he received the prize for La Mejor Voz and La Mejor Interpretación de Aria de Opera . As a member of the Compañía de Ópera de Occidente, he participated in opera performances in Venezuela and other Latin American countries.

In the master class of Mirella Freni and Katia Ricciarelli is Moleiro developed several main roles as Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti , the Rigoletto in the opera by Verdi and Marcello in La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini , which he in the Centro Italiano Venezolano under Giovanni Corallo sang. More recently he has appeared at the Teatro Teresa Carreño as Alfio in Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria rusticana under Felipe Izcaray.

As a concert singer Moleiro among others worked with the Orquestra Sinfonica de Venezuela , the Orquesta Filarmónica Nacional , the Orquesta Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho , the Orquesta Sinfonica Municipal de Caracas and the Orquesta Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar under conductors such as Angelo Pagliuca, Pablo Castellanos , Antonio Delgado, Rodolfo Saglimbeni and Gustavo Dudamel .
