Luke Boyd (* 1977 ), better known as Classified , is a Canadian rapper and record producer from Halifax .

His 2005 album Boy-Cott-In the Industry reached number 46 in the Canadian SoundScan R'n'B charts. His singles became the same year The Maritimes , 5th Element and No Mistakes all top 20 hits on MuchMusic and MTV Canada. His video for No Mistakes won an MMVA (MuchMusic Video Award) in the “MuchVibe Best Rap Video” category .

Boy-Cott-In the Industry earned him a Juno Award nomination in the Rap Recording of the Year category in 2006 and Hitch Hikin 'Music another in 2007.

Career

Classified visited the East Hants Rural High School in Milford ( Hants County ). After two years of perfecting his style, he released his ninth album, Trial & Error . Through his contract with URBNET Records, rising Canadian rappers such as Eternia and DL Incognito could also be heard, as well as rap veteran Maestro . It became one of Canada's best-selling independent rap albums in 2004.

His tenth album Boy-Cott-In the Industry was a high point of his career. It includes guest appearances by Choclair, Royce da 5'9 ″ , Jay Bizzy, J-Bru, Spesh K and Mic Boyd, younger brother Classifieds.

Spurred on by the success of his 10th album, number 11 followed a year later, Hitch Hikin 'Music . It is considered one of his best and most mature albums and is mainly about the difficulty of staying true to yourself in the hip hop business. This can be seen, for example, on the fourth song on the album Hard to Be Hip Hop . There were four single releases from this album, namely Find Out (which won the East Coast Music Award for Best Rap / Hip-Hop Single in 2007), Feelin 'Fine Remix , All About U , and Hard to Be Hip Hop . The twelfth album Self Explanatory was released on April 7, 2009.
