Claude Roch

Claude Roch (born August 9, 1945 , entitled to live in Port-Valais ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ).

He began his political career in 1976 as Vice President of the municipality of Port-Valais. In 1980 he became President and remained so until 2001. From 2001 to 2013 he was on the State Council of the Canton of Valais , where he headed the Department for Education, Culture and Sport.

His letter of October 2010, in which he wrote to all school directors in the canton of Valais regarding an educational textbook, sparked controversy. They had to «immediately ensure with the necessary subtlety that the Internet addresses of the chapter on love and sexuality are eliminated using Tippex or other solid adhesive materials».

Roch lives in Bouveret and has two children.
