Claudia Scherer

Claudia Scherer (* 1954 in Wangen im Allgäu ) is a German poet and author who also devotes herself to dialect poetry in her lyrical work . She has published poems, stories, short stories, a novel and reviews in the Berlin daily taz , in the magazines Allmende and Nachtcafé as well as in anthologies.

Career

She worked as a bookseller, studied German and art education at the University of Education in Reutlingen as a scholarship holder of the Hans Böckler Foundation , and was photo editor of the taz.

Scherer has been living in her native city of Wangen again since 1993, where she worked as a semi-volunteer at the Städtische Galerie until 2015. She is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS), the "International Dialect Institute", Innsbruck / Vienna (IDI) and the Mundart-in-der-Schule project . From 2005 to 2015 she was a member of the Meersburg authors' group . Exhibitions of photographs, collages and paintings in the region.

In 2007, 2011 and 2019 she received scholarships from the German Writers' Support Group in Baden-Württemberg and in 2013 and 2015 scholarships from the Geschwister Mohr Foundation.

Prices

In 2011 Claudia Scherer won 3rd prize at the 9th Feldkircher Poetry Prize .
