Claudio Ambrosini
Claudio Ambrosini (born April 9, 1948 in Venice ) is an Italian composer.
Ambrosini studied foreign languages and literature at the Università di Milano until 1972 . He then studied electronic music with Alvise Vidolin at the Conservatorio di Venezia until 1975 and historical musical instruments until 1978, as well as music history at the Università di Venezia .
From 1976 he worked at the Centro per la Sonologia Computazionale in Padua . In 1979 he founded the Ex Novo Ensemble in Venice , which is dedicated exclusively to the performance of contemporary music and which he has directed ever since. In 1983 he founded the Centro Internazionale per la Ricerca Strumentale , of which he is director.
In 1985 he was the first Italian to receive the Prix de Rome . In the same year he was the representative of Italy at the European Year of Music . The following year he represented Italy at the International Rostrum of Composers of UNESCO . In 1995 a portrait concert was dedicated to him at the Milan Music Festival.
