Claudio Loderer
Claudio Loderer (born September 6, 1950 in Sorengo ) is a Swiss economist .
Loderer studied at the University of Bern economics and graduated there in 1976 graduated with summa cum laude from. He then continued his studies and later his academic career in the United States . At the University of Rochester followed in 1979 the master and 1983 the Ph.D. In between he worked there as a lecturer . From 1983 to 1990 Claudio Loderer taught at Purdue University , first as an assistant professor and from 1988 as an associate professor. In the meantime, from 1985 to 1986, he also taught as a visiting professor at the University of Chicago .
In 1990 he returned to Switzerland and since then has been a full professor of financial management at the University of Bern and director of the Institute for Financial Management. In 2016 he retired and Philip Valta became his successor.
In addition, he is co-founder and director of the Rochester-Bern Executive Program, established in 1995 as a cooperation between the Universities of Rochester and Bern . He was also a member of the executive board of the European Finance Association and is a member of the editorial board of various academic journals as well as a member of the board of directors and consultant of various companies, including a member of the board of directors of the Von Graffenried AG private bank between 1997 and 2003 . Since February 2011 Claudio Loderer has also been Managing Director of the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) and Deputy Director at NCCR FINRISK.
Loderer's focus in research, teaching and consulting lies in the areas of corporate finance , corporate governance , risk management , capital markets , valuation and mergers & acquisitions . On these topics he published numerous articles, working papers and studies in various international specialist journals as well as the teaching aid and reference work Handbuch der Evaluation .
Claudio Loderer is married and has two children.
