The mechanical engineering company Clayton & Shuttleworth, based in Lincon , Lincolnshire , outsourced the construction of wagons, steam-powered railcars and trucks to the newly founded subsidiary Clayton Wagons Ltd in 1926 . Clayton & Shuttlewort began building steam-powered trucks in 1894. Electric trucks were also manufactured in the 1920s . In 1930 the production of the trucks at Clayton Wagons Ltd. ended.
