Clementinum Kirchstetten
The Clementinum Kirchstetten is located in Paltram in the market town of Kirchstetten in the St. Pölten-Land district in Lower Austria . The nursing home belongs to the Roman Catholic nursing home carrier House of Mercy . The chapel is under monument protection ( list entry ).
history
In 2003 a new building was built on the site of a nursing home. The listed chapel of the original old people's home has been preserved. In 2011, the nursing home was expanded by a further 24 beds with an extension / renovation.
In 2017, research by the Viennese city newspaper Falter made one of the biggest care scandals of recent years in Austria public. According to this, severely demented patients are said to have been mistreated, tortured and sometimes even sexually abused for years. The public prosecutor's office has started an investigation into the case.
