MexicanaClick (originally Aerocaribe , then Click Mexicana ) was a Mexican regional airline based in Mexico City and its home base at Mexico City Airport . It was a subsidiary of Mexicana .
history
The airline was founded in 1975 by a Yucatán-based private investor and began operating as Aerocaribe on July 12, 1975 . On August 23, 1990, the company was bought by the Corporación Mexicana de Aviación . It flew under the colors of Mexicana until January 2005. After that, Aerocaribe was transformed by Mexicana into a low-cost airline, received the Fokker 100 fleet from Mexicana and the name Click Mexicana. Some additional routes have been transferred from Mexicana to Click Mexicana.
In December 2005 Mexicana and Click Mexicana were bought by the Mexican hotel chain Grupo Posadas . From 2008 the company carried out feeder services for Mexicana under the changed brand identity MexicanaClick.
On August 3, 2010, the Mexicana Group filed for bankruptcy . MexicanaClick ceased its flight operations together with the parent company Mexicana on August 28, 2010.
