Climatronic (vehicle)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Climatronic or climate control refers to a type of fully automatic air operation in motor vehicles .

The designation depends on the manufacturer of the various automobile brands . Compared to the Climatic , the Climatronic regulates the interior temperature according to the preselected desired temperature, automatically adjusts the fan speed and controls the air distribution flaps. The regulation takes place by evaluating a temperature sensor and electrical control of various air flaps. In this way, the desired climate in the vehicle should be guaranteed regardless of operating and weather conditions. A desired climate creates increased well-being of the occupants, more comfort and safety. This maintains the driver's ability to concentrate and react as a prerequisite for safe driving.

Depending on the vehicle, one to four-zone equipment can be used. The term is often 1-4 zone versions or 1-4C ( English Corner , corner). The driver, front passenger and passengers in the rear passenger compartment can choose the respective climate settings independently of one another.

Typical input variables of the control are:

Further regulatory objectives can be:

  • Air flow as draft-free as possible (by distributing the air volumes to different air outlets)
  • Lowest possible noise level, especially when driving slowly (by reducing the fan speed and outflow temperature)
  • As far as possible, no fogging of the pane, due to the risk of condensation from excessively humid air on the inside of the pane (through active dehumidification)
  • Utilization of the engine waste heat even when stationary (as a function of residual heat )
