Clyde Newcomb

Clyde Newcomb , also Clyde Newcombe (* around 1910; †) was an American jazz musician ( double bass ).

Newcomb played in 1930 in Tommy Bohn Penn Sirens Orchestra of Ed Kirkeby , emerged with the first recordings for Odeon, and in the late 1930s. a. with Bobby Hackett , Paul Whiteman , with Eddie Condon and His Chicagoans (“ Nobody's Sweetheart ”) and Bud Freeman (“China Boy”). In the mid-1940s he worked at first with Vaughn Monroe , then with Gene Krupa and His Orchestra , and in 1947 with Johnny Long. In the field of jazz he was involved in 32 recording sessions from 1930 to 1945.
