Coactivator

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In genetics, a coactivator is a protein that binds unspecifically to DNA or stimulates transcription via protein-protein interactions . The coactivators include histone acetylation complexes such as SAGA or CBP and nucleosome remodeling complexes such as Swi / Snf . Other coactivators are able to bend or deform the DNA as a possible introduction to chromatin modification .
