Cochliopodium bilimbosum is an amoeba from the genus Cochliopodium . It is also known in German as the snail amoeba. The species occurs in ponds where it can be found among aquatic plants and in the mud. It is not found in Moosen.
features
Cochliopodium bilimbosum is 25 to 100 micrometers in size. The strong cover is very flexible. It consists of an ectoplasm layer, which is light and fairly persistent. At the edge it ends in a hem, which is covered with the finest sculptures. The pseudopodia are pointed, short and protrude from under the edge.
