Coetus Internationalis Servantium
The Coetus Internationalis Ministrantium ( Latin , 'International Association of Altar servers', CIM) is an association of diocesan representatives for the work of altar servers in the Roman Catholic Church .
history
After a preparatory meeting in November 1959, the CIM was founded at a meeting from November 14th to 16th, 1960 in Altenberg near Cologne . On January 27, 1967, the CIM was officially recognized by the church for an initial three years ad experimentum .
The Archbishop of Luxembourg , Jean-Claude Cardinal Hollerich SJ , has been President since April 3, 2019 .
The most important event of the CIM is the altar server pilgrimage to Rome , which takes place every four years . Acolytes from all over Europe meet here for exchange and encounter. The high point of the pilgrimage is a joint holy mass and an audience of the Pope .
