Colonia de Sant Jordi ( Castilian Colonia de San Jorge , "Colony of St. George ") is a coastal town in the municipality of Ses Salines in the south of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . The former fishing village developed through the nearby beaches of es Trenc , es Dolç , es Carbó and ses Roquetes to a highly frequented holiday resort with 2917 inhabitants (2010).
Excursions to the nearby island of Cabrera start from the sports and fishing port of Colonia de Sant Jordi .
In Colonia de Sant Jordi there is the information center of the National Park Archipiélago de Cabrera (see also: Sights of Ses Salines ).
There is a public school.
The summer festival in Colonia de Sant Jordi takes place on the first Saturday and Sunday in August. The weekly market opens on Wednesdays in the afternoon.
