The Coleford Railway was a British railway company based in Gloucestershire , England.

The company received on July 18, 1872 the right to build a railway line from Coleford to Wyesham on the Wye opposite Monmouth on the track bed of the Monmouth Railway . The construction of a branch line of the Severn and Wye Railway to Lydbrook and an economic crisis let the urgency of the railway construction fade into the background. On June 30, 1874, the Great Western Railway took over the concession. On September 1, 1883, the 8.5-kilometer line was put into operation.

The GWR took over the Coleford Railway on August 7, 1884. Passenger traffic was stopped on January 1, 1917 and freight traffic on August 11, 1967.
