Colin Cooper (musician)
Colin Cooper (born October 7, 1939 in Stafford , † July 3, 2008 at birthplace) was a British blues singer and multi-instrumentalist. He was a founding member and front man of the Climax Blues Band .
biography
At the age of twelve Cooper learned to play the harmonica , at 16 he switched to the clarinet . Then he learned to play the guitar. He played in several local school bands and then formed the Climax Jazz Band in 1963. His first release is the single Can't Let Her Go b / w Make Her Mine with the mod band Hipster Image, which was released on Decca Records in 1965 . He sang and played the saxophone . The B-side song was used in a 1999 Levi’s spot in Japan.
In 1967 Cooper founded the hugely successful Climax Blues Band , of which he was a member until his death. On July 3, 2008, he succumbed to longstanding prostate cancer .
