Colindale (London Underground)

Colindale is an above-ground London Underground station in the London Borough of Barnet . It is in the Travelcard tariff zone 4 on Colindale Avenue. In 2013, 4.54 million passengers used this station served by the Northern Line .

The station opened on August 18, 1924, along with the extension from Hendon Central to Edgware . An air raid in 1940 destroyed the original station building designed by Stanley Heaps . It was then replaced by a temporary structure made of wood. The current building dates from 1962.

The British Library newspaper archive , the Royal Air Force Museum and the Peel Center, the training center of the Metropolitan Police, are nearby .
