Collection de monographies ethnographiques
Collection de Monographies ethnographiques (Collection of Ethnographic Monographs) is a Belgian, French-language ethnographic book series published in Brussels from 1907–1914 . The series was published under the direction and in part also authorship of Cyrille van Overbergh . Like the annals of the Musée du Congo Belge , it is on the Congo Belge , i. H. the Belgian colonial possessions, focused. The texts describe the various ethnic groups in the Belgian Congo at the beginning of the 20th century in a systematic way and using the ethnographic knowledge of the time . Between 1907 and 1914 eleven volumes were published by the Albert de Wit publishing house and the Institut Internationale de Bibliographie . Van Overbergh, Secretary General of the Union des Associations Internationales , was also the editor of the International Movement Sociologique published Catalog des ouvrages ethnographiques , who also at De Witte and the de Office International Bibliography appeared. The planned continuation of the book series can be seen from a statement by the editor: "... les Fang, les Bayaka, peut-être davantage".
