Martin Hendges

Martin Hendges (* 23. October 1963 in Andernach ) is a German dentist and Vice Chairman of the Board of dentists' Confederation (KZBV). As the central association of the seventeen statutory dentists' associations in sixteen federal states, the KZBV represents the interests of around 61,000 contract dentists, one of the largest specialist groups in terms of numbers. The institution is an organ of self-administration in the legal form of a corporation under public law .

Life

After studying dentistry from 1983 to 1989 at the University of Cologne , following the state examination , license to practice medicine and training assistant, Hendges set up his own practice in Cologne from 1991 , which he ran until 2015. From 1998 to 2004, Hendges was a member of the honorary board of the North Rhine Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists (KZV Nordrhein). After the legislature introduced the full-time position of the board members of statutory health insurance and statutory health insurance associations in 2005, Martin Hendges was the full-time executive board member of KZV Nordrhein and its deputy chairman from 2011 to 2017. In March 2017, Martin Hendges was elected by the constituent assembly of representatives of the KZBV as deputy chairman of the board of the KZBV. He took office on April 26, 2017.

Martin Hendges is also a member of the plenary session of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA), a deputy member of the Innovation Committee and a member of the G-BA sub-committees on Requirements Planning, Method Evaluation, Quality Assurance, Organized Services and Dental Treatment. In addition, Martin Hendges is honorary chairman of the German Dental Association (DZV), member of the Free Association of German Dentists (FVDZ) and member of the Chamber of Dentists of North Rhine-Westphalia.

The rules of procedure of the KZBV distribute the departments among the three members of the board. Martin Hendges is responsible for the areas of contract, statistics, contract information technology and quality promotion. He is also the Task Force quality of German Dental Association (BZÄK), German Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery responsible (DGZMK) and KZBV. Hendges also sits on the board of trustees of the Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Health Care (IQWIG) and the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Quality Assurance and Transparency in Health Care (IQTIG) for the KZBV .
