Collegium Alberoni
The Collegium Alberoni ( Italian : Collegio Alberoni ) is a Catholic seminary and an arts and science institution in Piacenza .
history
The forerunner of the Collegium Alberoni was the 1732 by the cardinal and statesman Giulio Alberoni (1664-1752) with the support of Pope Clement XII. ( Bulle Clericalem vitam eligentibus ) founded Hospital St. Lazarus of Piacenza. The hospital was a medieval foundation for the benefit of the lepers. With the papal breve Apostolicae dignitatis of February 1733, the administration was transferred to the religious community of the Congregation of Mission ( Lazarists ) founded by Vincent de Paul .
After the disease had been contained, Giulio Alberoni founded the Collegium Alberoni on November 18, 1751 , a school which, in the Age of Enlightenment, was committed to the education of young Parmesans, especially to the formation of priesthood.
The Collegium Alberoni is a large architectural complex with a picture gallery, observatory, museum of natural sciences, library and the Church of St. Lazarus.
Studied Theologicum Collegium Alberoni
Today's Studium Theologicum Collegium Alberoni ensures theological and philosophical training for the priesthood and is affiliated with the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas .
