Colloquy is an IRC - and SILC - Client for macOS . Colloquy supports adjustable message layouts with the help of XSLT and uses Apple's WebKit renderer, which is based on KHTML .

Growl message when logging in

Colloquy can be controlled via AppleScript and offers the option of plug-ins . The Growl notification system is also supported.

Colloquy is quite a popular IRC client because it has been adapted well to the look and feel of Mac OS X.
