Collyer Island is an island off the Budd coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . In the group of Balaena Islands , it is 1.4 km west of Thompson Island .

The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after Geoffrey Robert Collyer (* 1924) of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve , flight captain and responsible for aerial photographs while exploring the Budd coast between 1946 and 1947.
