The Cologne Blues Club (CBC) is a Cologne blues band founded in 2009 .
history
The band was founded in 2009 by bassist Michael Gebhart and guitarist Micka Kunze. With Géza Tényi (vocals, harp), Frank Bruns (drums) and Thilo Hornschild (guitar), the band has been touring Germany and neighboring countries since then. In 2010 the band released their first EP called CBC on their own. Since autumn 2010 they have been under contract with the ZYX Music label Peppercake for five years and three albums. In February 2011 their first CD Our Streets was released. The band is also represented on some samplers ( Bluesnews Sampler , Pepper-Shakers ). The Cologne Blues Club was a participant in the German Blues Challenge 2012 and 2013. The band was also nominated for the German Blues Award 2013 in the "Best Band" category, and drummer Frank Bruns in the "Best Drummer" category.
In October 2013 the band went on tour in Germany with the American guitarist Jonny Lang. On October 25, 2013, the second album Hanging by a Thread was released . It was recorded in the CAN studio, which was rebuilt in the Gronau rock'n'pop museum. At the beginning of 2014, guitarist Micka Kunze left the band. The Cologne Blues Club has been touring as a quartet since then. At the beginning of 2015 guitarist Thilo Hornschild was replaced by Timo Gross , who accompanied the band until the beginning of 2017, since then Erik Jünge has been the current guitarist. The band is working on a live album that will be released in summer 2017.
