Colony 7 is an arcade game from the Shoot-'em-up - genre , that of Taito's developed American US development department and was released in North America 1,981th The game contains elements from Space Invaders and Missile Command and was the inspiration for the popular Atari 2600 game Atlantis .
The main innovation of Colony 7 was the advanced weapon arsenal. This gave the players the opportunity to choose between several weapons, whereby each weapon had to be purchased separately via a micro-transaction through the coin slot.
The game was included in the Taito Legends (2005) video game collection.
