The Colville Channel is the easternmost of three channels that connect the Hauraki Gulf in New Zealand with the Pacific Ocean . It is northeast of Auckland and is located between the southern end of Great Barrier Island and Cape Colville on the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula . The tiny Channel Island is located in the middle of the channel.
The other two channels are the Cradock Channel and the Jellicoe Channel .
