Combined Harare Residents Association (CHRA) is an umbrella organization for civil associations in the area of Harare in Zimbabwe .

CHRA serves an area of 3.5 million people (1.5 million in Harare and 2 million in the surrounding communities, including Chitungwiza , Norton and Ruwa ). The social hotspot Epworth is not looked after.

CHRA was founded in 1999 with the aim of representing the interests of citizens in the city council and the government. This includes legal advice and representation. The political fields of the CHRA are citizens' initiatives, democracy, education, the environment, local politics, documentation and information.

In the time of political unrest, the organization brings clear criticism of all those involved, without taking sides, it sees itself as a "watchdog".

During the repressions, the umbrella organization increasingly turned it into a local citizens' organization in the city districts, which together were able to maintain their water supply and the limited possibilities of transport even during the inflationary period.

In the town twinning Harare - Munich, she plays just as important a role as town councilors and mayors, because at the organizational level, personal trust has become particularly important as the basis of the development partnerships.
