Comedy Mission with Murat Topal is a socially critical documentary format by Sandra Jakisch, produced by Studio.TV.Film, which was first broadcast in May 2011 on ZDFkultur and in August 2011 on 3sat .

content

The successful comedian Murat Topal , who used to be a police officer in Berlin-Kreuzberg, leads a project called Comedy Mission that deals with young people from different social milieus on an artistic level. Street children and civil war refugees are just as much a part of this, as are young people with or without a migrant background and young people with a criminal past and / or from socially disadvantaged families in which drugs and alcoholism played a role. With the support of prominent guests such as the rapper Azad , the Seeed Frontman Dellé and the comedian Bülent Ceylan , Topal is working with the group on the Shakespeare classic “ Romeo and Juliet ” as a comedy piece with hip hop and street dance elements. The camera accompanies the young actors during rehearsals and at the successful premiere in the Berlin UFA factory. The documentation not only paints a picture of modern youth culture in Germany, but also takes a sensitive look at the difficult life situation of the talented young people and their dream of a better future.
