Comic forum

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Comicforum has been an Internet forum on the subject of comics that has been operating since 2000 and currently has around 84,500 users (as of June 7, 2019).

Development and content

When the Comicforum went online in 2000, it was the only internet forum in the comic field . Numerous large comic publishers such as Carlsen , Ehapa and Panini opened their own official sub-forums within the comic forum.

In 2002 Carlsen left the Comicforum and opened new official subforums on the portal of the Comics event in Leipzig . In 2004 Panini also went its own way and opened the Panini Forum , which lasted until 2019. In 2009 Carlsen returned with the Carlsen Comics Forum to the Comicforum , the Carlsen Manga Forum and the forum for the Daisuki magazine stayed with Comics in Leipzig . In January 2012 EMA also left the Comicforum and switched to Comics in Leipzig , but in June 2012 all of the publishing and various fan forums from Comics in Leipzig were taken over into the Comicforum . On January 1, 2018, all subforums of the Egmont publishing group left the Comicforum for the time being. Tokyopop left the Comicforum on August 1, 2019. In addition to the large publishing house Carlsen , many medium-sized and small comic publishers are currently represented in the comic forum . There is also a large artist area.

The comics forum is now not only an internet forum for comics, but also contains sections for games, books, films and music. Around 800 members are currently active every day.

Award

The comic forum received the ICOM special award 2004 for the artist area . The interest group comics , which awards this prize, justified this with the unifying effect that the comic forum has for comic fans in German-speaking countries. In addition, networks would be created for artists that would also have an impact on later publications. The comic forum is an indispensable factor in the German-speaking comic landscape.
