ICOM Independent Comic Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ICOM Independent Comic Prize is awarded by the Association of Comic e. V. (ICOM) awarded since 1994. In contrast to the Max and Moritz Prize , this prize is awarded to illustrators and small publishers who are far from the established industry giants for in-house productions from the previous calendar year. The publications have to be submitted, until 1998 one copy was sufficient, since 1999 the jurors come to an agreement in advance of the award ceremony and therefore require five submissions.

The price categories

Every year prizes are awarded in different categories. In 2006 the categories Best Fanzine , Comic Article "Funny" and Comic Article "Realistic" were replaced by Best Short Comics , Outstanding Artwork .
