Panic electro

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Panik Elektro was an annual German-language anthology series for comics . It was launched in 2003 by the Hamburg comic artist Thomas “Wittek” Wittke and published by the Weimar publishing house Schwarzer Turm .

Each issue was dedicated to a special topic that was worked out by illustrators from the German comics scene with guest contributions from international comic personalities on almost 300 pages. So Panik Elektro has turned into an initially ridiculed and financially not very lucrative, but later comprehensive and important forum for the contemporary and German-language comics scene.

The Cologne comic artist Frank “Spong” Plein was responsible for the editorial work in the editions from 2003 to 2006 . Between 2007 and 2008 this task was taken over by the Berlin comic artist Thomas Gilke, who comes from Munich . The seventh and, for the time being, last volume was published after a one-year break in 2010, edited by Johannes Kretzschmar and Ulf Salzmann.
