Christopher Tauber

Christopher Tauber (* 1979 in Frankfurt am Main ), artist name Piwi , is a German comic artist . After stays in Berlin and Stuttgart , he now lives and works in Frankfurt am Main.

In 2002, together with Helge Arnold , he presented an interview with Popcomics at Ventil Verlag in Mainz . This is where interviews that were conducted in advance with various indie bands are implemented in drawings. Interview partners included Travis , The Weakerthans , Röyksopp and Eels . In 2006 a second part was published by Ehapa Verlag , which uses the same concept to include stories by Adam Green and Farin Urlaub , among others . In 2007, the Stuttgart-based Zwerchfell Verlag published Disco Amore , a book containing comic strips about members of the Frankfurt band Good Heart Boutique . Further publications by Piwi can be found in the series Teufel und Pistolen initiated by the comic artists Mawil , Fil , Andreas Michalke and Reinhard Kleist . It is here that Piwi's character Mona, a megalomaniac girl who drives everyone around her insane with her self-love, becomes known to a wider public for the first time.

Piwi is also working on the JackpotBaby fanzine ! with, which in 2006 won a competition on the platform Jetzt.de with its online edition and was sponsored by the Süddeutsche Zeitung . For the Roman Germany is closing by Dietmar Dath , in 2010 the publishing house Suhrkamp appeared Piwi took over the illustrations.

In 2011, Zwerchfell Verlag published the coloring book Mal döch mal Metal , in which Tauber drew well-known record covers from the rock, hard rock and heavy metal sectors as coloring pages “for the heavy family”. In 2013 he started the webcomic "Survivor Girl" together with Ingo Römling. Tauber is an author, Römling draws the story of the teenager Phoebe, who survived a massacre in the summer camp, as a parody of the slasher horror genre.
