Max Baitinger

Max Baitinger (* 1982 in Penzberg ) is a German comic artist and author of graphic novels.

life and work

Max Baitinger trained as a carpenter and studied illustration at the Leipzig University of Graphics and Book Art. His thesis there, the graphic novel Heimdall , became his first book publication and was published by Rotopol in 2013 . Röhner followed in 2016 , also at Rotopol. In 2017 Birgit was published by Reprodukt . In 2013 a Finnish edition of Heimdall was published by Sarjakuvakeskus, and in 2017 a French edition by Dédales éditions. In 2018 Röhner was published in Spanish by Fulgencio Pimentel.

His books received positive reviews in the features section. The Tagesspiegel declared Röhner the second best comic of 2016 and described Birgit 's "strong pictogrammatic style, which is characterized by the play with colors and shapes" and the enjoyment of reading the book, and that after the last page you go back to start at the beginning. Even the Germany radio wrote: "This is so beautiful that you Birgit can read again and again." The FAZ praised for "Röhner" humor "Baitinger other hand, is in the laconic its images and text very funny;"

He is co-organizer of the Leipzig comic festival "Millionaires Club".

Baitinger works as a freelance illustrator in Leipzig.
