Human blood

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Menschenblut was a comic magazine in the fantasy and horror genre . It appeared in a total of 37 editions between 1981 and 2001. Volumes 1 to 11 were published by Blutshop between 1982 and 1985, and volumes 12 to 37 were published by Eisenfresser Comix between 1994 and 2001 .

history

In 1981 the three cartoonists Michael Hau (BiMi), Rochus Hahn (Robi) and Michael Möller (Mille) published a volume of the same name under the label Comiclabor . This was the forerunner of the later human blood series published by the young draftsmen, who also operated under the synonym Blutkru . In the following, eleven issues appeared, but since issues 8 to 10 were indexed by the Federal Testing Office for publications harmful to minors and there was a threat of permanent indexing, the editorial team decided to discontinue issue number 11. Issue 11 was printed in a significantly smaller edition than the previous copies and mainly served to serve the subscribers.

The indexing procedure was initiated at the request of the youth welfare office of the city of Bochum . One took particular offense at the formulation " we human blood readers like to have a beer or to the cinema at night after the Saturday woman murder " in a film review about The House on the Cemetery Wall, which, in the opinion of the applicant authority, implies " that a human blood- Readers kill women as a weekend job. In the opinion of the Federal Inspectorate for Writings Harmful to Young People , the " Human Blood Booklets 8, 9 and 10 [...] were suitable to confuse children and adolescents socially and ethically and thus morally endanger them " and were indexed by Decision No. 3428 of November 8, 1984. With a time-shifted indexing, the editors of human blood were given the opportunity to counteract indexing when designing the magazine.

In the mid-1990s the series was reissued and published by Eisenfresser Comix (a sister company of Schwarzer Turm ), followed by several ICOM awards and an increase in quality. Due to an interplay of internal disputes, conceptual problems with the magazine and the increasingly emerging individual careers of the main actors, the magazine was discontinued after the 37th issue, which was published in 2001.
