Frank Schmolke

Frank Schmolke (* 1967 in Munich ) is an illustrator , painter and comic artist . He started working as a draftsman in a Munich agency in 1994 and has been working as a freelancer since 1999. Schmolke lives with his wife and children near Munich.

Schmolke is a co-founder of the Munich comic magazines Tentakel and Comicaze and has published his own comics in his own publishing house “Edition Spaceboy” since 1994. a. the series “Jim” and “Littlejim”. Over the years he has published regularly for various publishers and in 2007 also worked on Bully Herbig's 3D animation film Lissi and the Wilder Kaiser .

He caught the attention of a broader public again in 2012 with his cover picture and his contribution to the erotic comic anthology “Bettgeschichten”.

His first comic novel appears in 2013 in Edition Moderne under the title “Trabanten”. The story: The young Franz Huber comes out of jail and wants to do everything right from now on. But soon he is again in the midst of the greatest difficulties. When Franz celebrates the reunion with his friends Paul and Robert, there is a fatal accident. And now Franz and Paul are on the run. In it, Frank Schmolke tells of a young man's desperate struggle for his life and identity in Munich in the early 1980s.
