Arne Bellstorf

Arne Bellstorf (* 1979 in Dannenberg on the Elbe ) is a German comic artist . His works tell psychological and / or everyday chronological stories in an often melancholy atmosphere and in a clean Ligne Claire style .

Life

Bellstorf studied illustration in Hamburg from 2000 to 2006 . In 2004 he was honored with the "Bronze HRTN" at the Hamburg Comic Festival for his publication The Scorpions . In 2005 he submitted the comic album Eight, Nine, Ten as a diploma thesis , which the comic publisher Reprodukt presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair that same year . Bellstorf promptly received the Sondermann Prize for “Best Newcomer”. In 2006 Bellstorf's album was awarded the ICOM Independent Comic Prize at the Erlangen International Comic Salon .

Since then, various shorter works by the artist have appeared in the Berliner Zeitung , Berliner Tagesspiegel and Spiegel Online . Bellstorf also published his comics and illustrations between 2004 and 2013 in the comic anthology Orang , which he edited for some time together with Sascha Hommer . From 2004 to 2008 both operated the comic book publisher Kikipost . In 2010 Bellstorf published the comic novel Baby's in Black. The Story of Astrid Kirchherr & Stuart Sutcliffe , the third edition of which is successfully published by Reprodukt .

Bellstorf lives and works in Hamburg.
