Comic Forum is an Austrian trade magazine that was published from May 1979 to June 1998. She brought reports, interviews and reviews on the subject of comics as well as some comic book pages.

The magazine was first published by Wolfgang Alber, then from No. 31 by the Comic Verlagsgesellschaft in Vienna . The last five issues appeared in the Forum Verlagsgesellschaft in Furth an der Triesting . A total of 67 issues were produced.
Chief editor
The editors-in-chief of the magazine were Wolfgang Alber (up to No. 30), Erich L. Nussbaumer (up to No. 32), Alfred Schuh (up to No. 38) and Harald A. Havas (up to No. 67).
Last two editions
The last regular issue, No. 66 from December 1994, announced a merger with the trade journal COMIC! of the comic association . Therefore, for the first time, an ISSN (0945-926X) appeared on the cover. However, the merger failed. It was not until June 1998 that Wolfgang Alber said goodbye with the 24-page 67th issue, which contained an index of all issues, a Carl Barks interview and, in addition to some comics, obituaries for the magazine by former authors.
Prix Vienne
From 1981 to 1994 the magazine awarded the Prix Vienne annually . For this purpose, the readers were asked about their favorites in different categories. The signatories won Jean Giraud / Moebius and Hermann each six times. In the field of copywriters, Pierre Christin came first in four years. In the albums category, the series The Towers of Bos-Maury and Travelers in the Wind often made it into the top ranks, in the books category Corto Maltese . The most popular publisher was almost always Carlsen , and the most popular magazine seven times Schwermetall .
