Travelers in the wind
Travelers in the Wind ( Les Passagers du vent ) is a comic series by the cartoonist François Bourgeon , which appeared from 1979 to 1985. In Germany, the albums were first published by Carlsen Comics in the early eighties (5 volumes). A new edition of all albums as well as a sequel in two volumes designed as an epilogue will be published by Splitter-Verlag from 2009 . The Broad 1973, the series was created when François Bourgeon on a model of a frigate rigged from the 18th century.

The first five volumes are set a few years before the French Revolution . The main character is the young French noblewoman Agnes de Roselande, who is exchanged for the orphan girl Isabeau de Marnaye because of a stupid kid's joke. After Agnes has been raped by her own brother, who thinks she is Isabeau, she and Isabeau end up on the French warship commanded by her brother and headed for the Caribbean in search of revenge. Isabeau dies after a sea battle with English ships. With the help of the Breton seaman Hoël, who shoots her brother, Agnes escapes from the ship. Despite Isabeau's death, Agnes finally keeps the name Isabeau. Together with Hoël, she returned to France via England and from there to West Africa on the slave ship Marie Caroline . After a few adventures on land, they survive an uprising on the slave ship crammed full of captured blacks and come to the Caribbean, where their ways and Hoël's parting.
Volumes 6 and 7 deal with the experiences of Isabeau's great-granddaughter during the Civil War in the United States and shed light on Isabeau's further life after the events in Volume 5.
Computer games
In 1987 and 1988, Infogrames brought out two adventure games called Travelers in the Wind and Travelers in the Wind 2 , which interactively re-enact parts of the comics. The games appeared on C 64 , Amiga , Atari ST , MSX2 and Amstrad CPC .
