Comparex Switzerland

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Comparex Switzerland AG was a service company with a focus on hardware and software sales and technical services. The company's headquarters were in Sursee in the canton of Lucerne .

Company history

The company was founded in 2002 as a joint venture of Bison Holding AG and the PC-Ware launched Information Technologies AG and acted initially under the name of BISON Systems AG. From 2007 the company traded under the name PC-Ware Systems (Schweiz) AG and was renamed COMPAREX Schweiz AG in 2010.

70 percent of the shareholders were PC-Ware Information Technologies AG, 30 percent belonged to Bison Holding AG. In April 2010 the management of Comparex Schweiz AG resigned and at the same time almost the entire workforce (around 200 employees) resigned. The result was a legal dispute between the Comparex group and the Bison group, which continues to this day.

After further layoffs followed at the end of 2010 and 2011, the company changed its name to Data Center & POS Solutions AG in September 2011 and finally ceased operations in May 2012. However, the status in the commercial register of the Canton of Zurich is still active today.

criticism

The company came into public criticism mainly because of the layoffs in 2010 and 2011 as well as the legal dispute with the Bison Group and the former management.

On April 14, 2010, the entire management of COMPAREX Schweiz AG resigned under the leadership of CEO Oliver Schalch. At the same time, 180 of the 200 employees terminated their employment contracts and were taken over by the Bison Group under the same contractual conditions. Shortly afterwards, COMPAREX Schweiz AG applied for an urgent civil law application for precautionary measures against the Bison Group. However, this was rejected in August 2010.

The civil law dispute over compensation for damages in favor of the COMPAREX Group has been ongoing since 2011. Criminal investigations were ongoing at the same time. In May 2015, the Lucerne Public Prosecutor's Office published a press release that indictments were being brought against various parties involved in the former management at the criminal court of the Canton of Lucerne.
