Foundation & 1990s

The company was founded in 1990 as PC-Ware Gesellschaft für Industrieinformatik Leipzig GmbH. The company was founded by Knut Löschke. In 1998 the company merged with PC-Ware Gesellschaft für Industrieinformatik mbH in Obertshausen to become a stock corporation, PC-Ware Information Technologies AG. In 2009 PC-WARE had a business volume of more than 1 billion euros.

2000s

From 2000 PC-Ware was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. In March 2003 the company switched to the Prime Standard.

In 2001 the European subsidiaries of the American company Programmer's Paradise Inc. were bought up.

In 2002 there was a 70 percent majority stake in Bison Systems AG (see Bison Holding ) in Switzerland.

In March 2006, PC-Ware expanded to Scandinavia by taking over the Ravenholm group of companies. On June 1, 2007, PC-Ware took over Comparex Central Europe and Iberia (the national companies Austria, Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland and Romania). As a result of this takeover, the number of employees worldwide rose to more than 1,700 by the end of the 2010/11 financial year.

At the end of 2008, the Raiffeisen Informatik Group submitted a voluntary public takeover offer through the group company Peruni Holding GmbH, as a result of which the Raiffeisen Informatik Group held a good 73% of the shares in PC-Ware Information Technologies AG until March 2009.

Via a squeeze-out in January 2011, Raiffeisen Informatik GmbH received 100 percent of the shares in PC-Ware Information Technologies AG through Peruni Holding GmbH. As a result, the company revoked the admission of PC-Ware ordinary shares to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange with effect from January 24, 2011.

criticism

The PC product got into critical media coverage after it was taken over by Raiffeisen Informatik and the management was replaced in the summer of 2009. In June 2009, CEO Knut Löschke and CFO Tillmann Blaschke resigned. Klaus Elsbacher was then appointed by the Supervisory Board as the new CEO and Thomas Reich as Chief Financial Officer. The workforce feared for their jobs and accused the management of a lack of communication. Many employees called for the establishment of a works council .
