Knut Löschke

Knut Löschke (born August 18, 1950 in Leipzig ) is a German chemist and entrepreneur.

Life

After his Abitur at the EOS Ernst Schneller (since 1990: School St. Augustine ) in Grimma studied Knut Löschke 1969-1973 at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig crystallography , solid state physics, chemistry, mathematics and materials science and graduated with a degree in crystallographer from . In 1976 he received his doctorate there in chemistry. After working as a scientific assistant at the Institute for Crystallography in Leipzig and completing his habilitation in 1985, he has been head of the development group for PCs and software in the "Combine Rolling Bearings and Standard Parts" since 1986. The team called itself unofficially at the time "PC-Ware" and wanted to set up its own business, which in 1987 failed because of the state monopoly Robotron . In 1990 this finally succeeded, and Löschke founded PC-Ware GmbH (later PC-Ware Information Technologies AG) together with two colleagues . From 1990 to 1998 he was the company's managing director and then chairman of the board until July 2009 and the largest single shareholder until 2008. In March 2010 he sold his shares to the new main shareholder, Raiffeisen Informatik .

In February 2010 he took over a block of shares in Softline AG as part of a capital increase and is currently chairman of the supervisory board.

Since March 24, 2010 he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bahn . Since 2003 he has been a member of the supervisory board of the Leipzig University Hospital . In 2013 he took over its chairmanship.

In 2010 the University of Technology, Economics and Culture Leipzig (HTWK) appointed him honorary professor. Since September 2010 he has been a member of the supervisory board of Stratos Business Solutions AG.

In addition, he works as a management consultant, including as chairman of the advisory board of " Druck undwerte GmbH ". He is a member of the “Innovation” advisory committee of the Saxon state government and senator of the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Enterprises (BVMW) and was a member of the general assembly of the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) until 2012.

In January 2012 he was criticized by individual students for giving a lecture on the topic of climate change at the University of Passau , in which he denied the influence of CO 2 on global warming and described warnings about climate change as " propaganda ".

For the AfD parliamentary group , Löschke has been an expert on the Enquete Commission Artificial Intelligence - Social Responsibility and Economic, Social and Ecological Potentials since 2018 . He is a member of the board of trustees of the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Natural Sciences .
