Complutum

Complutum (now Alcalá de Henares in the Spanish autonomous community of Madrid ) was a Celtiberian city. The residents were Carpetani .

Only in Christian times did the place gain a certain importance and became an episcopal town from the 5th century until 1099. The re-establishment of the diocese took place in 1991.
