Movimento dei Comunisti Unitari

The Movimento dei Comunisti Unitari (MCU) ( Movement of Unity Communists ) was a political party in Italy that was formed on June 14, 1995 through a split in the Partito della Rifondazione Comunista (PRC). The MCU included the parliamentarians of the PRC who had voted against the party line and against the majority at the grassroots level in support of the government of Lamberto Dini .

For the parliamentary elections in 1996 , the MCU appeared on lists of the Partito Democratico della Sinistra . The MCU was in 1998 in the newly founded Democratici di Sinistra (DS). Within the DS, the former MCU members belong to the "Una sinistra forte" and "A sinistra per il socialismo" currents.
